lady gaga

LadyGaga was introduced to performing artist Lady Starlight during this time; after a performance at the Lollapalooza Festival in 2007 Gaga was signed by Vince Herbert to Streamline Records which is an imprint of Interscope Records. After working as an apprentice songwriter under an internship with Famous Music Publishing, which was later acquired by Sony/ATV Music Publishing, Gaga subsequently struck a music publishing deal with Sony/ATV. The company then asked her to write music for the likes of Britney Spears and labelmates New Kids on the Block and Fergie. At Interscope, singer-songwriter Akon recognized her vocal abilities when she sang a reference vocal for one of his tracks in studio; Akon then convinced Interscope-Geffen-A&M Chairman and CEO Jimmy Iovine to form a joint deal by having her also sign with his own label Kon Live, making her his "franchise player. In 2008 Gaga released her first album , 'The Fame', to only a few radio listeners; Gaga went on tour across Europe and at gay clubs in the US to promote the album - however it wasn't until her hit single "Just Dance" was brought to the forefront of attention that Gaga exploded onto the music scene. Gaga was suffering from a Labral tear on her right leg which she secretly nursed for several weeks to ensure she was able to continue the tour. She was unable to walk following a performance in Toronto and was in extreme pain. The tour was cancelled.
